LEDGER BOARD ATTACHMENT TO BRICK SIDING

Post by immune1919 » Mon Aug 07, 2017 12:46 am

Hello Shannon. Designing a backyard deck and I watched your video. I understand the process of cutting out the siding to attach the ledger board. What are my options as the rear of my home has brick siding or veneer? Should I not attach the deck to the house and instead use cement columns for support and build it close to the home? Or should I attached ledger to the brick siding? Any insight is greatly appreciated. My apologies if this question has already been posted.

Thanks
Marcus

You should build the deck unattached to the house using cement piles and posts.
