exterior color

I purchased this house in February and would like to change the color scheme. It has been a challenge for me because of the brown roof - I would like to get some your opinions.

I can paint the brick but I'd prefer not to paint the vinyl siding

Lvl header and framing

I'm wanting to take out part of a load bearing wall between kitchen and dining room. The wall is 12'3" with a walk through door on one side. I want to center an 8' walk through using lvl. It's a two story house and I only have 8' ceilings so I'm hoping I can get away with two 7-1/4" lvl. Can I place...

Kitchen lighting layout

For the life of me I can't figure a good layout for recessed can lighting.

8' ceilings with 36" uppers. (Pic shows 42")
Rectangle in middle of kitchen is an island
I will have 2 pendant lights over island and a flush mount over sink

Each square represents 1'

Any Help will be much appreciated

My biggest fear is to spend a good amount of money finishing basement and then have issues. basement is about 800 sq' 8' ceilings 1...

Re: Insulation for a basement

I've been wanting to finish my basement and started pricing it out after watching your videos and noticed the ridged foam is cheaper to buy 4'x8' as opposed to the 2'x8'. the only down fall I can think of is the 4'x8' is not tongue and groove - I assume the seem tape will take care of the issue. Als...

Re: luxury vinyl plank flooring

For the toilet, yes - I would place your vanity first and then lay flooring around it... if you don't and for some reason you need to replace flooring you'll have to take our vanity as well to get the flooring up. Not really a big deal if you don't, I guess, but typically that is how it's done. Lay ...
