Re: Framing around Chimney boot

this chimney will not be used. (I kept it for future use if i change my mind and add a fireplace)
i used rigid foam as a first layer and will fill it with rockwool. Since the chimney is stainless steel and passing through foundation wall, maybe a thermal bridge is needed ?

Re: Foundation wall crack fix

Oh yes you're 100% right. When french drain was done, the compagny told me that the main problem was water infiltration underneath my basement slab (they confirmed inspection report before buying). I had a huge bump due to the freeze thaw cycles that caused pressure on foundation structure. No helix...

Re: Chimney removal

The length is 6.5. The finished wall will be around 5" from foundation (1" xps+ stud +dry wall) so rather building a wall 7" away from foundation i m thinking to cut about 3" from it

Is it going to be abandoned or put into service after the new wall is installed?
since i'm not sure , i want to keep it. I will insulated from inside ( xps+batt), then finally cover it with drywall
