Re: Broken Central Air

that is my theory...it is literally like $15 so I'll just roll the dice :) I just need to remember to discharge it so I don't get zapped!

If that doesn't work I'll call a tech

Re: Broken Central Air

You don't think it might be the capacitor? I was going to replace the current one that I took a picture of (see attachment) with the one here since it's such a cheap part to get: https://www.amazon.com/TradePro-Capacitor-TP-CAP-30-Condenser-Conditioner/dp/B07SK7KY4W/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=30%2F5+capaci...

Broken Central Air

Hi again, Of course my central air broke in this heatwave. See below: I have a 1996 Bryant central air 2 ton unit. I have a goodman gas furnace as well (not sure if that is relevant). The central air turns on and the fan spins outside, but does not cool and the lights in the whole house flicker when...

Sunroom Replacement Storm Windows

Hi all, I have 7 old storm windows in my sun room that I believe are just plain old glass. I'd like to replace them with more energy efficient ones, but do I need to replace the entire window? Or just the glass? And is there any benefit to skipping the storm windows and just installing regular windo...

Re: DIY Gravel Driveway

Hi Shannon, Thanks for your reply. Yes i plan to remove the grass first before even adding the timbers. Would these timbers be fine (linked below)? https://www.homedepot.com/p/8-ft-Landscape-Timber-288731/301802514 Based on my budget it seems like I can only afford about 2 inches in depth of the 3/4...

DIY Gravel Driveway

Hi all, I plan to lay a gravel driveway by myself - 10 ft. x 40 ft. That said, I outlined my steps below but added some questions in red. I am trying to keep costs down :) My steps are outlined below: 1. Level/grade the driveway so it is even and use a hand tamper to compact it 2. Lay down landscapi...

Cracking in Wall

Hello Friends! Everything was fine at my house for a while but the entryway between my back room and kitchen is having some issues. I noticed it was cracking pretty bad, but the wood underneath looks fine. It seems to be some type of extremely thin dry wall or something and I can cut it with a utili...

Divets/Tears in Vinyl Sheet?

Hello! I have something going on with my kitchen floor. I am not sure if it is Linoleum or Vinyl, but it is one big sheet and there are a couple divets and tears in it. Is there any epoxy or silicone I can use to prevent further damage and tearing? I do not have any of the material to try and patch ...

Re: Hole in Drywall

Hi - ok thanks for the heads up. So what are some of the traditional techniques? I saw a video from Shannon where he used a new piece of drywall and inserted that in...is there anything less invasive?

Hole in Drywall

Hi, I was trying to remove an old toilet paper hanger that was mounted to the wall, but managed to rip it straight out. The "hole" is only about 1 and a half inches x 1 and half inches. I can manage painting it, but how do I repair this? I am not handy whatsoever haha. You can see a picture of it he...

Re: Concrete Porch - Paint Cracking and Chipping

Ok thanks for detailed answers. I think to do it properly I'll have to call my handyman (he is licensed and seems to know what he's doing (20+ years experience)). I'll even explain to him what you guys said.

I'd probably make it worse if I attempted myself :)

Thanks again.

Concrete Porch - Paint Cracking and Chipping

Hi again. I have an issue with my concrete porch. The previous homeowner left behind the paint so I know they were using BEHR PREMIUM® Porch & Patio Paint & Primer In One Floor Paint, but there is a big section on the concrete porch that is cracking and peeling. We had a very cold winter, so I am no...

Sloping Porch

Hi I just bought a house and knew about this issue, but was wondering if there was a remedy. I watch all of Shannon's videos and am a big fan of the channel. The Kitchen (back of the house) is a converted porch and there is a slope in it that I believe was there so water could run off the porch? (By...
