Re: Shed Base

Thanks for the responses - could I just build the 2x6 base and place it on the stone dust without the spikes? I don't want it to be too high that would require a ramp.

Re: Shed Base

Thanks Shannon - I am using 2x6 - I plan on driving the stakes until it is level with the stone dust - I thought it might be easier to level with the stakes - either drive down more or pull it up a bit.

Grab Bar - Fiberglass Shower

Hi I am wondering what the best method is to install a grab bar in a fiberglass shower. My mother is elderly and would like a bar to assist her getting in and out of the shower. It is a moulded fiberglass surround with tub – would it be safe to assume that the studs are 16” centres and I could measu...

Concrete Relief Cuts

Hi Guys We put in a on ground pool last year and our pool guy did the cement work around the outside of the pool deck - I recently noticed that some of the relief cuts have dropped on one side of the cut but not the other - so there's a noticeable lip on one side - just wondering if this is normal o...

Re: Air Conditioner

Thanks for the help - we do have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy - I will check the condenser coil too- I changed the 3M filter to a cheaper brand and that did help - but still running most of the day.

Re: Air Conditioner

Thanks for the help - I will check those things today.
The air flow has always been a little weak even in the winter - I do use the 3M filters - so I might pick up a cheaper (thinner) model for the summer

Air Conditioner

Hi Guys My house is about 15-20 yrs old and the air conditioner is the original. I find with this recent heat wave in Ontario my A/C unit does not shut off and it never gets the house to our programmed temp (24 cel or 76 far) – the temp in the house has gone up as much as (28 cel or 82 far) at the p...

Re: Deck Stair Railing

Thanks Shannon for the fast reply - I will try that when I get home today.
Stupid question - how would I get the angle on my drill press - by tipping the wood?

Thanks again

Deck Stair Railing

Shannon let me start off by saying how much I enjoy your youtube videos - very informative and I love how you show your mistakes or issues. I have replaced the railing on my deck with the metal balusters and cedar 2x4 top and bottom rails (thanks to the youtube videos) - I have made it to my stairs ...
