Re: Grout haze on tile

Guys, thanks for the info/suggestions, I will give them a whirl. Expected some elbow grease would be involved. Nick M., ya, I thought about sealing the tile before grouting it. I don't really know how to tell how porous a particular tile is or not. I should have just fell on the side of sealing it. ...

Re: Bathroom mirror silicone type?

Thanks for the replies guys. Used the clips...just made sure they were anchored (in stud) or with better drywall anchors than come in the package. Seems to be working fine. :D

Re: Grout haze on tile

Thanks for your reply Nick, but it's wayyyyyy beyond that. It's like it's embedded in the tile. I definitely did go through the process of applying the grout with a float, sponging it, wiping it with both a tile sponge and a microfiber cloth. I've tiled several floors in the past with no issues.

Grout haze on tile

So, I put in some floor tile. It's a chocolate brown. I got Fusion Pro grout, cream colour. Instructions for using Fusion Pro is that you have 3 to 5 minutes before you wipe it off. In my case, perhaps due to the tile, a matte porcelain... I found I had about 30 seconds, if that. Ended up having to ...

Bathroom mirror silicone type?

I'm about to put my bathroom mirror back up. It is about 4 ft tall by 6 feet wide. One of those typically bathroom mirrors you know? Will be using those bathroom mirror stainless steel hooks (will be looking to screw them into studs) but I also wanted to put some silicone behind the mirror. Indeed, ...

Re: Bathroom floor leveling again.

Update. Shannon, thanks for your help. I was a bit afraid to pour floor leveler, however, I found a product called EdgeBan (edgeban.com). It is a styrofoam barrier that you put around the edge of your floor. It gave me the confidence to go for it...and it worked out pretty good. The only problem I h...

Re: Bathroom floor leveling again.

Hey Shannon, ya, I appreciate that it's hard to make a call when you can't actually see the floor. Sika has this Mike Holmes vid/ad...between the 15 and 20 second mark is exactly what my issue is in a few areas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fxi-_fWEFU In this vid they cover the whole floor, not ...

Re: Bathroom floor leveling again.

Ok Shannon, looks like you're suggesting Sika Level-125 (looks like HD has it, if not I'll hit a Rona close by). Looks like I'll have to prime the area too. Just to double check though. The areas I need to flatten are like, 2'x4' and 6"x4', so can I just cordon off these sections or is this product ...

Bathroom floor leveling again.

Weekend DIYer here. Looking to ceramic tile my bathroom floor. Large format tile 12x24. Floor is 3/4 plywood. 40 years old. I've added more screws everywhere to make solid, no bounce etc. My problemo is that the plywood sheets are not level to each other. On a single sheet the floor is level, but go...
