Drip edge on existing roof

I need to (still need to) re-side the garage and do the fascia & soffit with it. When the roofers installed the new shingles the didn't put a drip edge on. Do I need to have one? Can I install it with roof already in place? The shingles extend about 1/2 to 3/4 inch over the roof decking.

Just cheapo Menards vinyl siding. I mean it's just a detached garage.

Re: Alternative to saddle valve

It's suprising around here, Chicago is such a strong union city. Although my heating guy did throw it in on the side, so that makes sense. I just wonder about the long term lifespan of shark bite fittings, as opposed to sweat joints, especially on pex tubing.

Steps to rebuild a garage

My garage siding & sheathing is in bad shape. The soffit and fascia can stand to be replaced also. I'm going to strip everything down to the studs and start with 1/2 OSB sheathing. My question is what order do I put everything back together in? I know that water management is key, so I was thinking ...

Re: Alternative to saddle valve

Oh yes, I'll have to grab that. Much better than saddles.

Alternative to saddle valve

Anyone have a better solution to a saddle valve for a humidifier copper tubing line? Mine is starting to leak, of course, and I'll be stuck with a little hole in the pipe. It's on a 3/4 inch copper line from my water heater out.

Re: Help mounting a "live edge" shelf

They are going to be used as shelf supports. They appear to be some kind of wood, or as close to wood as I can tell.

Re: Help mounting a "live edge" shelf

Thanks, that's a great idea. I'll do a couple dowels per side and it should be strong enough. I know there isn't any plumbing or electrical behind, this is in the living room on exterior wall. Thanks so much for the quick reply!

Help mounting a "live edge" shelf

So I got the boss a thick slab of wood, cherry I think, and she wants it on the wall as a shelf. She bought what appear to be solid wood bookends that she wants to use as shelf supports. I have no idea how to mount these things. I was thinking GRK structural screws but then the heads would show thru...
