Re: framing duct work

Thanks Shannon, just did a premeasure and above the door to the lowest duct work which is the heat and the one against the wall, it is 3.5 inches to the top edge of the door with door opened, will this be an issue? Would I be any further ahead if I used 1x4's for the horizontal cross pieces to maxim...

framing duct work

Hi I'm back with another project I need to tackle. In the old laundry room I want to install suspended ceiling. The room is about 10x20feet or so. I need to first box in furnace duct work that goes the length of the room. What would be the simplest way to frame this in and finish it off so I can the...

Re: soffitt and j's

For what you are doing there I would go r12 in walls and ceiling. I am guessing that shed is 10x8 so the walls need 256sq' thats 3 bundles of bat insulation for most brands and for the ceiling you need 80sq' so 1 bundle should do that .If you want a little more in ceiling you could go R20 so if you...

Re: soffitt and j's

Thanks Shannon you have been very helpful, I agree osb would be the best. What do you recommend for insulation for the walls and ceiling as far as R value. Also for 2x4 ceiling joices 24 inch on centre and 2x4 walls 16 inch on centre how many bundles of insulation would I need for walls and ceiling?...

Re: soffitt and j's

Thanks Shannon for both the soffit and facia video and the siding video as well as the gable end video. Thought I'd post my semi-finished shed. I did house wrap it before siding. Did have a question, I plan on insulating the interior, I have 4 sheets of 7/16 ( I think ) of osb plywood for the ceilin...

Re: soffitt and j's

Hi Lynn, Just bend that one soffit at a 90 degree, looks like you got it. As for the J screw it to the wood fascia and then when you install the aluminum fascia cut the J back to let the fascia fit to it. Don't forget your house wrap by the way. Other wise nice job. Thanks Shannon , your video was ...

soffitt and j's

Hi and thanks for producing all the videos , they take most of the fear out of the project. I built a 10x12 shed with 8 foot high walls , 4:12 roof with 2 foot overhang all the way around. After watching your video on soffit and facia I had decided to try to tackle the job following your technique ,...
