Looks like if you have a 9.0 Milwaukee battery pack there is a new warning to go along with them.

All LiIon cells have an aversion to water- even clean water. If they get water inside they can all 'vent with flames' like you have seen happen with hoverboard vids. A good pack design will be at least somewhat rain-proof but reality makes it tough to make them truly waterproof.

Worst of all here is that the main hazard from LiIons is never discussed- the venting produces Hydrogen Flouride gasses which can ruin your life or even end it. In the lungs it may take a few days before the tiny whiff of smoke you inhaled shows an effect but by then your lungs are permanently done for. If a LiIon cell or battery vents hold your breath and run like hades upwind or safely crosswind, and keep everyone else away till all the smoke clears completely. If you even think you inhaled any of it go to the doctor right away- it can be treated immediately but not later on. If any contents from inside the cell get on your skin runse well with water and get to the doctor NOW. There is a specific expensive ointment used for this but it must be done now, not later. HFl has an affinity to permeate your skin right into your bloodstream quickly.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that everyone read this thread http://budgetlightforum.com/node/45314 regards LiIon safety. You REALLY need to know this stuff. LiIon's are wonderful but their dark side is much worse than you have been told.
