Sink Replacement

Post by Tom7500 » Sat Feb 25, 2017 1:15 pm

I am replacing my kitchen sink and faucet but the new sink is slightly smaller than the existing hole. What can I do except buy a larger sink? Is there an adapter ring available?

Honestly, I'd go for either exactly the right sink for the hole you have, or go for a slightly bigger sink and enlarge the hole so it fits that bigger sink. I'm not sure if there's an adapter or not (I never heard of it), but if there was it could give you grief down the road because it's moisture trap for water spills or splashes.

No adaptor that I have ever heard of.

There is an oversize flange-mount made which might work, but the link I had was on another PC where the motherboard died so I can't access it for you and quick search didn't find it. If I get another tower soon I'll post a link here as the HD still has it and wasn't damaged in the crash (I hope).

Yes, I agree with you that, it will better to buy the right sink or go for the bigger one.

Most people are dreaming of having a bigger sink, but lack space. And you want a smaller one! How come

Remove the Old Sink Turn off both the hot and cold water supply lines. ...
Turn on the faucet to relieve water pressure in the lines.
Use adjustable wrenches to disconnect the water supply lines to the faucet. ...
If you have a garbage disposer, turn off the circuit, then unplug it. ...
Then remove the dishwasher drain line.

You have to replace the whole sink. No other option you have.
