Hey Shannon. Big fan of your youtube channel. I was wondering what you thought was the best way to cut ceramic penny tile?

I'd use a Dremel with a diamond cutting wheel. Do it in a shallow dish of water.

I personally have never cut them but Aarons method would work or if you have a wet tile saw that should work as well.

If you're cutting sheets of them, then you just cut the backing with scissors so the sheets are sized so that, when placed along the border of your area, at least some of the penny tiles land with their edges touching the perimeter.

Then those "every other" penny tiles need to be trimmed individually and fit into the gaps.

The Dremel will do precise cuts, a tile nipper might work if you score and snap. The tiles are so small so you will need to experiment.

Aaron is very close.

Every tile guy I've seen work with mat mounted tile either cuts the entire sheet with a wet saw or peels or cuts off the excess mat/tile and manually installs in the individual pieces. The latter is done with tile nippers, which are similar to dykes, but made for tile. By nibbling away at the edge of the tile, incredible detail and accuracy can be achieved to custom fit individual pieces into place.
