Tile install thickness calculation

I am replacing the flooring between the kitchen and living area and am trying to get the new tile to be 1" thick including the underlayment. Subfloor is 3/4" plywood so I can use Ditra or cement board underlayment.

I've asked a few people and am getting mixed answers. Can someone please tell me if the following makes sense?

1/4" for cement board
1/8" for mortar under cement board
3/8" for 12x24 porcelain tiles
1/4" for tile mortar assuming I use a 1/2" square notch trowel.

Adding these up would put me at 1"

I suspect the mortar under the cement boards will be a bit less than 1/8" but probably close enough.

You're on the right track with your calculation, so long as your numbers are correct, meaning, until you have all the products you intend to use on site, you won't know exactly what the sum of the parts is going to be.

Yup you should be real close. You can fudge things a little once you get going.
