Hey Shannon....I'm nearing the final stages of a bathroom renovation and I want to put tile on ceiling above tub/shower. 3' x 5' area, The tiles I'm using are 16 x 24 and porcelain. I've read that the only thing I really need to do after adding thin-set to ceiling is do a good back-butter on the tile as well to help add that suction when sticking tile up there...Was wondering if you had any other advice so they don't come crashing down on me when I take a shower. lol

Don't shower right after you install the tiles! LOL
Use a good low sag mortar and yes back butter the tiles as well. You are using pretty large tiles but they should not be real heavy since they are porcelain . I do not see any problem but be careful and maybe also place a protective layer in the shower base just in case. If you have to you may need to temp. support the tiles if you find they want to slip off.
