water proofing bathroom surrounds

Post by hkbk2011 » Thu Aug 20, 2015 11:31 am

I know lots of instruction shows using thin set mortar with fiber net tape and membrane for waterproofing. Can I just use mud instead? the mud you use for taping and muding drywall?

so if a person have joints(corner joints, butt joints or moisture resistance drywall joints that's getting tiled over) in their cement board, do they suppose to tape and mud over it, or they just can apply the tile adhesive over everything with no worries then just tile it

So transitions from drywall to cement board need tape or mesh and mud and other joints in cement board should have mesh and thinset.
