Shower surround and drywall

Post by rlnosbush » Sat Jul 13, 2013 10:23 pm

When the fiberglass shower surround is installed, does the drywall get installed over the screwing flange? Thanks, the videos have been helpful.

Yes that is the intent, but to do that you must notch out the back of the drywall so that it sits flat. What I prefer to do is stop the drywall just short of the flange by about 1/8" and then I install a row of tiles to hide that transition. You get a much nicer finish that way.
