Sewage smell when showering after installing new toilet?

Ok. Installed my first new toilet. Had to do the wax ring twice; no surprise.
All is well now except when showering, we notice a sewage smell. The shower is draining fine, but the SINK is draining slowly.
New toilet, slow sink, stinky shower... what have I done!??!

This was an existing bathroom with existing plumbing? All you did was change the toilet?

Yep. Just swapped old toilet for a new one.

I would say your wax ring is not sealed? Is the smell coming from round the new toilet? If so this is the problem. I almost always either use a thick wax ring or stack two thin ones together.

Smell is coming from shower, oddly enough. Or at least, it only smells when the shower is running.

I think your slow sink drain may be an indicator that part of the drain and possibly the vent is plugged. When any fixture is used, are there glugging sounds? This would indicate a blocked or partially blocked vent.

yes it could be a coincidence that it happened the same time as the toilet change and the venting has become clogged.

What prompted you to install a new toilet?
