What is this along the baseboards?

Hey everyone, I need some help.
I'm renting a house and noticed that this is all along the baseboards in one of the washrooms. Is this just water damage? Potential mold? Could it become dangerous? I'm concerned because I have two small children.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

I'm seeing water staining, currently. Because the baseboard is not caulked to the floor, water can get under/behind it and mildew/mold can develop. I would recommend cleaning the baseboard and floor well, then caulking that joint. Do the top of the baseboard as well, if the joint is open.

Yes looks like some water damage. I would assume this is near the tub/shower or toilet.

Looks like fiber primed baseboard was installed, but never painted. Fiber baseboard sucks in moisture (especially in bathrooms) causing this type staining. Looks like a recent renovation? Unfortunately, a few things were missed. No Shoe molding shows this was done cheap. or didn't know, what they were doing.
For now, I would just reseal with any paint primer, then paint with a moisture resistant paint like Aura® Bath & Spa Paint etc This should fix the problem for many years.
Hope this helps.
