tips/advice/suggestions on fastening metal hat furring channel

Post by Jmaclicious » Sun Mar 05, 2017 5:28 pm

Hey there, curious on how you would go about fastening metal hat furring channels to the floor joists if I go that route instead of 1x4, I used wafer screws to fasten my steel channels to the joists for my bulkhead, however I if I use shimming I dont think those will give enough bite. I tried researching online and people have used brackets that the metal hat channels just clip into... however I cannot find those anywhere here.

They can be simply screwed to the joists using 1-1/4" drywall screws.
