Lights on half vaulted ceiling

looking for ideas for installing lights on the half vaulted ceiling in the house.

maybe recessed lighting in the side?

You can install lights in a vaulted ceiling, but you've got to have access to it from above in some way so that you can fish wires to where they need to be.

Same goes for installing lights on a wall, no problem, but you've got to have access to a supply source somewhere and put a switch in it.

These are the problems with these areas, can it be done, probably so, but it ain't gonna be easy.

I would not put recessed lights in the side (wall) they will shine across the ceiling and every little flaw in the ceiling drywall finish will show. If you install any there they should be something you can adjust in direction to shine where you want and slightly downwards. Also most likely in that wall there will be a beam in the lower portion so you will want to stay above that.
The vaulted ceiling area will be trickier to run wiring through IMO so the partial wall will be easier as it will have access from the back side in the attic.
