Using foam board to insulate basement with french drain

Hi Shannon!

I've recently had about 6' of water damage in my basement due to a pipe burst that is now fixed.. Inside the walls was previously fiberglass that is wet and moldy. I have two sump pumps in opposite corners of the basement. In the picture attached, you will see about 6" of drain board sticking up from the concrete floor coming from the french drain system. My intent is to install XPS 2" board. However I'm stumped on how to install the XPS insulation down to the board like you do in your videos. I'm guessing that if I trim the black drain board flush with the floor, it would not hurt the integrity of it's design. Thoughts?

I would not cut the drainage board, you can install the foam right over it. Any moisture between the rigid insulation and concrete will be directed into the drain.
