Ceiling dust after popcorn removal

Post by annalleman » Sun Dec 23, 2018 12:13 am

Contractor says I need to wet mop my ceiling before it can be primed and painted. I recently removed the popcorn. How and what does he mean by “mop”?

1 - Are you doing the priming/painting or is the contractor?
2 - If contractor, why isn't he prepping the ceiling for paint?

I have scraped many an acoustic ceiling and either painted or retextured. I've never "mopped" one. I'm going to assume that the contractor did a piss poor job of scraping the ceiling and thinks that hand scrubbing or "mopping" will take care of what he's too lazy to do himself.

What exactly was done by you and what was the contractor hired to do? What is the contractor's specialty? And, finally, can you post some pictures of the ceiling?
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Can you rephrase?

Would sound like the expectation is to wipe the wall quickly of dust before prime and a damp cloth/mop would do it.

Either way he's the contractor why is he asking you to do things? Need more details/pictures.
