Sweating lintel

Post by Gaviness » Wed Jan 02, 2019 4:40 pm

Hi Shannon,

I have this Lintal resting on the block wall in my basement. It is supporting a slab. It is sweating, and by the looks of it, has been doing so for a long time as it is rusted .

I guess that I have to keep interior moisture off this lintel.

I have some rigid foam and can put that in place, but I doubt that I could seal it in completely.

Do you have any suggestions for me?

I would say you could use rigid foam and seal the seams with canned sprayfoam.
