Deep Basement Window sill finishing Advice needed

Post by hcpatel78 » Fri Jan 04, 2019 8:49 am

Hi Shannon,
Good Morning,
You guided me through for my basement insulating and finishing the project. I am at the drywall finishing stage. I have 3 basement windows and all have 13.5" deep sill now(After insulating, framing & drywalling in front of window opening). I am wondering now how should I finish the Window Sill and all 4 sides of the window? Please see attached pictures for the same. I am willing to get all options to finish this. Economical options will be better as I am almost running out of the budget.
Thank you in advance.

The most economical product would be drywall. If you have not discarded all your scraps you likely had some pieces left over that would work there and then you would use corner bead around the edges.
Other wise plywood or MDF will be the better options for the width you have and then you can finish it with window casing after.
