Drywall Sanding Scratches...help

I just completed mudding and taping a pantry (first time drywalling). I’ve started sanding but have noticed I’m leaving behind tiny scratches everywhere I go. I have used different sand paper and sponges all in the fine grit category. I used CertainTeed all purpose lite compound. Will these be covered in with paint and primer? Is there a way to prevent them? I have tried sanding in different directions and circular patterns to no avail. Thanks

Post a picture. small scratches will hide with primer and paint, deep scratches will not.

Are you using sandpaper or a sanding screen? A screen tends to produce better results because the sanding dust and debris goes into the screen instead of being scrubbed between the paper and the wall, which is what produces the heavier scratches.

I am currently using paper. The scratches are fairly light and I have a hard time capturing them on camera.

Odds are, if the camera can't see 'em, you won't either once they're painted. Can you feel them with your hand, if so, too deep, if not, don't worry about them.
