Drywall crack: Plaster, Spackle, Caulking, something esle?

I have a few of these cracks around the house, all of them under windows. I'm planning on selling it and don't have to have to deal with a big plaster job. Just need something that will "fix" the problem for a few months.

Ideally everyone would attach photos directly to the post here as it would alleviate such issues.

That is a pretty typical crack point, especially in old homes without much torsional bracing. As a drywall guy, I'd do it the drywall way, which is to simply scrape the loose debris out, then tape and mud it. Plaster guys would do it the plaster guy way, which Clarence will have to provide, as I am not a plaster guy.
