I wound up with joint of a non-tapered and a tapered edge on the ceiling of my walk-in pantry. The joint is 4 ft long. What is best way to mud and tape that?

Fill the tapered side of the joint first, let it dry, knock down any lumps or bumps, then tape the joint as you would a normal butt joint. You will have to do a couple coats on the tapered side before it is flush enough to tape and smooth easily.

Thank you, Spruce. I will give it a go.
