Ceiling/drywall

Post by Limurr » Wed Mar 20, 2019 7:56 pm

Hi, in the past few months I have noticed some cracks along the seam of the ceiling and wall on interior walls on my house and today I came home and found the ceiling bowing in two spots right beside one another. This happened on the top floor. There are no signs of water either. We looked in the attic but couldn't get all the way up and from what we saw it was dry. The weather has be up and down the last few months I'm not sure if it could be from the fluctuations of temperature or if it is something more serious

Do you have any pictures that show the bow?

How new is the home? Looks like a rafter/truss problem? I cant tell but are the two spots about 24" apart running parallel to each other?
A common problem in newer homes (last 15 yrs or so) is Truss up lift. It happens as the different truss components expand and contract with weather changes.
