Drop ceiling around basement windows

Post by [email protected] » Mon Mar 25, 2019 7:09 am

Hello all,
I am preparing to install a drop ceiling in the basement but i realized that the top of the basement windows will end up higher than the ceiling. In other words the ceiling "L" bracket would run across the window! How do I deal with this. I am maxed out for space. I cannot go higher on the ceiling bracket.

Thanks

Luc

A option is to drywall the ceiling in front of window out around 2’ from the wall and then add a small vertical boarder that will project down and allow installation of wall angle.

That's what i thought of. Creating some sort of "inverse" window well on the inside. A sort of "sideways" skylight. I can picture it. Thanks
