Basement insulation

Post by [email protected] » Wed Apr 03, 2019 7:02 am

Hello all,
I'm gearing up to re-do a basement, insulation and all. The plan is to glue 2" foam on the foundation, then frame and put in bat insulation (roxul or fiberglass) for added R value. I don't intend to put a vapor barrier before drywalling. I read that this is prone to moisture trapping/build up in basements. Any issues with this plan?
Thanks

Well the biggest issue depending your local building codes is that it could be against code regulations. Check you local office to see what is required for your area. An alternative is to use one of the new advanced air/vapour barriers that changes based on the conditions.
