You will be fine with the 3/4" boards you have then covered with 1/2" plywood. Replace any poor spots of the 3/4" boards before you cover with plywood.By poor I mean any that are rotted or soft spots that move a lot when walled on.

Side note to the work you're doing, if you're going to paint, do it before the finish floor goes down, then you won't need to protect anything from paint spatter or ladder damage. 8-)
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
