Hi,
I'm accumulated about 700 sqft of fiberglass batts in good condition (17 years old). Some were in rim joists, some were wall cavities.
I was thinking of using them in the attic and placing them over the blown-in fiberglass insulation. Should I place the batts over the blown-in and probably compress the blown-in a bit, or use a rake to move over the blown-in insulation and place the batts down on the attic floor and cover it up with the blown-in?

Try not to compress the blown in. Use a rake and level out the blown in as best as you can and lay the bats over it tight together
