Sheetrock or doors

Post by rcosta » Sat May 25, 2019 4:25 pm

Hi, I am doing a small renovation for my inlaws. I am finished with the framing and need to install the two interior doors and sheetrock. Is there a rule of thumb regarding which comes next: installing the doors or hanging the sheetrock? Or does it not matter?

Thank you. Happy Memorial Day!

Fastest and easiest is drywall first, because you can cover the opening with drywall, then cut out the opening with a saw and/or utility knife.

But it doesn't really matter, you can just as easily install the doors, then measure and cut your drywall around it. This method is a little more time consuming, but just as effective.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks for both responses. The project is coming out well so I don't want to mess it up at this point.
