Space drywall and trim

Post by jstrez77 » Sat Sep 14, 2019 1:45 pm

Hello -
I have the trim cut but it's too short at the bottom so I see a gap between the trim and drywall. Do I have to add a little sliver of drywall or any other ideas?

Oof! I think you're gonna have to strip that wall to bare studs and start over! :? :| ;)

It looks like the gap is less than 1/4", just caulk and paint it and be done with it. If you really want it covered with drywall, then fill the gap with drywall mud and then flat tape it, the tape will keep the filler from cracking and falling out later. Either method will work and would be acceptable. 8-)

I agree, I would use a paintable caulking and then touch up the paint once it is dry.

Darn, I wish you would have got back to me quicker. I already ripped it down to the studs. Thanks!
