Base board trim

When installing vinyl plank flooring is it necessary to remove the base board trim prior to installation of the floor?

Well not completely but most of these floors require some room when they are against items for expansion and contraction if they are a floating or loose lay install. So you would have to cut them at least 1/4” short (check manufactures recommendations) and then add a cove or quarter round trim to the bottom of baseboards to cover that gap.

If it’s a glue down you can usually cut tight. And could do it.
