Building Wall Under LVL Beam

Post by kbucky » Tue Jan 07, 2020 9:22 pm

I am framing out my unfinished basement and one of the walls will run directly under the LVL beam (it may not be LVL...it resembles a bunch of plywood glued together). Can I nail the top plate of the wall directly into the bottom of the beam or will I run into issues with that?

I obviously do not want to impact the integrity of the beam or have any load displacement into the wall under it that may cause issues down the road.

Fastening directly to the beam should be fine, I see no problem with that.
