No flashing between deck and vinyl siding...

Post by Love2Learn » Wed Jun 20, 2018 3:13 pm

Hello,

Realized from watching your video and some investigation of my deck that it appears no flashing was used. House has vinyl siding.
Is there any way to rectify this?

Thanks

You can remove the last row of planks ,bottom row of siding and starter or J channel and install the flashing. So long as the planks are running parallel to the house.

Hi Shannon, the contractor installed the flashing but from the picture it looks like it is just laid on top of the plank. Do you think this is ok?

Thanks Carol

That will be ok. the main thing is that it directs the water away from the rim joist and ledger.
