Water leak caused by blocked weeping hole?!

Post by Ameds » Fri Dec 21, 2018 12:01 pm

I noticed a leak in my garage after a windy rain storm last night. The whole south side of my house is soaking wet from wind driven rain.

I noticed that the exterior wall where the leak is located has a caulked weeping hole. Is this the obvious reason for the leak? This is the only weeping hole that seems to be blocked.

Should i remove this immediately?

Judging by the thermal image, the water is coming in at the sill and drywall isnt wet.

If you think it's a weep hole problem, then I'd definitely clear it. Most that will happen is you recaulk the hole.

I would say some blew in around the door seals as well but that weep hole is likely the culprit for most of it IMO.

There should be flashing between the bottom of the brick & the top of the foundation.
