Porch Structure

Hello there I have watched several of your videos and find them extremely helpful with great instructions. After watching I decided to take on a project and replace some windows in my porch. The windows were smaller so I knew I would have to frame out for them fit correctly (image 1). However when I started to removed the old interior board I noticed that the bottom of the studs and the base plate was rotted (image 2). Not only the base plate but the corner frame disintegrated when I touched it (image 3 and 4).

This quickly became a bigger project and I need to replace the base plate and support studs. My question would be what is the best way to do this? I was going to put in a temporary frame about 3 foot from the existing one (image 5 and 6 studs where x is marked) but wanted to make sure this was correct. This would allow me to replace the whole wall and install need studs/frame and the beam for the corner post.

Any advice would be really appreciated

Thanks Chris

from the information and pictures you have supplied this would seem to be ok.Be sure to replace one wall at a time and also run diagonal braces across the studs of the temporary wall to prevent racking. I doubt you would have any but better safe then sorry.
