Uniform step - what to do?

Post by [email protected] » Sat Aug 31, 2019 6:01 pm

Hi,

I am building steps for my deck. Rise is 17" which means 5.67" rise per step (for three) which seems low....or 8.5" rise per step (for two) which seems high. What are my options? Should I build a 3" base or first step and then follow with two 7" steps?

Thanks!

Keep the steps uniform at 5.67", uneven steps are a trip hazard.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Yes I agree if you have the room for 3 use the 5.6". it is a nice easy climb and you will get used to it easily.
