Receptacle replacement

Post by johnwh » Tue Jul 23, 2013 9:38 am

Watched several of your vids...still not sure what to do. I want to replace existing receptacle with Adorne (Legrand) receptacle...existing has three separate lines coming into box, all attached to receptacle (so three each - hot, neutral, and ground - 14/2). Adorne receptacle doesn't have enough terminals to accept all the wires. There are 2 neutral (white) on one terminal, and 2 hot (black) wires on opposing terminal however, on the existing receptacle...can I pig the wires sharing terminals and run makeup wire to hot and neutral terminals on the Adorne receptacle? I think one of the 14/2 lines is just a power steal from the box.
