wiring ground with no ground screw present

Post by garyb » Sun Apr 08, 2018 8:35 am

Hi guys, I’m wiring a new bathroom exhaust fan - if there is no ground screw present in the unit do i just tie together the ground from the romex and the ground from the unit and call it a day?

Thanks,
-Gary

Yep, that's exactly all you need to do! The other end of that green insulated wire is bonded to the fan chassis.

That looks familiar !! ... Oh, yeah, I did 2 of those yesterday, along with a new ceiling fan
(Me on the ground, son in law in the attic) :o

and yep, as Aaron said, the green wire is connected to the housing

Yeah not my ideal use of a Sunday morning, but oh well. :D

Couldn't find my screwdriver today and thought maybe I left it up above the sheetrock when I was installing that thing, but turns out I left it in another room.

I think I could open a Tool store if I found all my tools lost in an attic
Especially in 30-40" of loose insulation and you drop something .... It's gone :o
