outdoor low voltage lights

Hi,

I had outdoor 3 tier lights ( 3 w) installed in my garden in 4/2019. The lights have not been working for past three months. The electrician thinks it is due to defective transformer of 45 watts which was replaced but the problem persisted. Now same electrician recommended 600 watts transformer and with this one few of the lights are still not lighting up in the garden 3/12 are not lighting up in a random order.

What could be the reason of this issue?

Will appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Naheed

Any electrician worth his or her salt should be able to pinpoint EXACTLY the cause of this problem. A simple test using a volt-ohm meter can rule in or out your transformer, and whether there is continuity from the transformer to each and every light in the string.

My guess is you may have an open circuit somewhere. But testing needs to be done to determine where.

Thanks so much for your help.

I will have him check each and every light in the string and figure out the issue.

Sincerely,

Naheed
