The Official Useless Post Thread
Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
That is something I would like to do sometime. I do from time to time meet fans ( I use that term loosely ) by accident at events, on the street or in big box stores sometimes and its always an interesting conversation. It was really awkward the first few times for sure but I have gotten more used to it. My wife just smiles ,giggles and steps away cause she is not as comfortable with it. ,LOL.
I would like to arrange something sometime, some how, some where. I would hope many of you regulars here could make it out if I ever do that , you have become like family really, family I have never met.
Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
I had to remove a rotted broken off fence post a few years back. I drilled a bunch of 1/2" holes in it as deep as I could and kinda whittled it apart after and then smashed out the concrete that was around it. Not a fun process at all.
Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
I think you'd have better luck with the awl than an auger. Like I said, the ground is full of 1" to 6" river rock, those things don't just jump out of the way. And, an auger is useless against old cores, which is what I was pulling yesterday.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
Jackhammer and auger.

Last fall I was at the park with my grandson. I was wearing my HI shirt. A guy there recognized it and mentioned you and your videos and how they really helped him.Shannon wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 8:13 am

I asked if he was on the forum at all and he said yes ... Mentioned 'EMTNUT' to him ... got a blank stare

If I do ever make it out there, I'll need to do an electrical video with you ... I want my 10 seconds of fame

Will I have to hide the labels on my beer?? Or can Mr Admin Guy edit it out

a few years ago, maybe 3 years into our existence Admin was purchasing some used auto parts from a guy and when he went to see the parts and walked into the guys house he seen that that guy actually had our website open on his computer screen and had been looking at it before he showed up. Very coincidental cause he would have had no idea who admin was at the time! LOL.
I like the idea of having a guest pro in a video! Beer sounds good also...maybe not in video?

Stop the vid at the 39 second mark and check out the bed/cab gap . . . can you say FRAME FLEX? I knew you could!
They also put a lot more than overload springs on that sucker, like 10:1 gears in the axles, no other way it could get that load to budge.
I'd guess late 70's truck, probably '77 or '78.

Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
love the old squares!
Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
Yeah, me too. It took me a very long time to warm up to the post square body trucks. '95 is when they finally did away with all the square styling, inside and out, to what we'd consider a "modern" interior. Then again around 06 or 07 they changed the body again and they started getting a lot taller and boxy and ugly, IMHO.

Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
Yeah trucks are so less utilitarian than they used to be. Can you even order a manual transmission, vinyl seats, and no carpeting? I highly doubt it.
Those old vinyl seat no-carpet ones you could just hose down the interior!! Lol
Look the bed!!! I also LOVE the two-tone.

Oh how can I forget, I briefly owned a '93 Honda Civic Del Sol. That car was cheap and fun, and had a removable hardtop roof! The two-seater also had amazing legroom.

Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
The Mazda 626 I had as a teenager was the most fun vehicle I've every had, good handling, got out of it's way well enough, for a four banger. My favorite vehicle was my '95 Sierra, I still miss that truck.

Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
They used to order some of them where I worked.
They do have to be ordered, but can still get them. And yep, you can just power wash the inside

They were automatic thou ... so not sure if that's an option still.
They also had the manual 4x4 stick on the floor ... locked in, so if you didn't take it out of 4x4 on pavement, the truck would do little bunny hops when turning

I forgot, I also had an early 80s buick. Mid-size, can't remember what it was. It was like driving a couch down the road ... I didn't keep it very long !

Re: The Official Useless Post Thread
That is what is *always* said about Buicks, that it's seats are couches.

Also, why isn't Buick pronounced like Quick?
