We have an infraction against us for carbon monoxide in the basement. How's your week going?
You've always said that hubby was full of hot air, now you know the truth! ;) ;)

I wonder where it's coming from. I know you're in Canada but you have to have the furnace off by now.

Water heater maybe?

We got testing done, and even though we have functioning co detectors, the basement fireplace is gas and is the culprit, but didn't set off any alarm. The infraction is just our notice that we have 60 days to fix it.

Ok so you hired someone to test your home. I get it now. the way I read it originally it sounded like they were doing random testing or something and fined you? LOL.
You CO alarms may not be in ideal positions or are expired so that may be something else to look at to be safe.

AFAIK, CO alarms also have a higher threshold for CO detection than professional CO testing equipment.

At any rate, good the testing was done and hopefully the fix will be relatively straightforward and inexpensive.

IMO, it only means that you recognize humor when it's meant as humor. I saw this the other day and thought it was pretty funny myself, but then I don't have to make sammiches, so . . . ;) ;)

Reality is, I do all the cooking around here, so that last statement isn't exactly correct. :x

Don't you miss the days when TV programming was actually funny and didn't rely on fake laugh tracks?

Holy mother of God! Working 7 hours in direct sun is a killer!!!!!!!! Did this Saturday and again today, Monday. I am absolutely whipped! Don't remember what Saturday's temp was, today was 93F when I got in the Burb at the end of the day. The plus side is that the deck is finally finished. Took about a day longer than expected, simply for unforeseen circumstances, namely dryrot.

I . . . am . . . taking . . . Tuesday . . . OFF!!!!! :| :|

Yeah we're nearing summer solstice, the longest days of the year.

I for one LOVE them.

But yeah, you gotta be careful not to overexert yourself.

You know it's a slow week when nobody has posted here! Or, maybe I should say a busy week, keeping folks away?

My life has gotten quite busy the past few weeks, both work and personal things have got me running most days right now. :|

Yeah, it's patio season to be sure. So far we're having a pretty mild, not-so-hot summer. I can't complain.

We had several days in triple digits last week, this week has been in the 90's, next week is supposed to be 80's and 90's. August is when we tend to get the unrelenting heat. When it's NOT in triple digits, it's usually pretty nice, always enjoy cooler weather though.

We've only had triple-digit highs F (38+ C) as records here, it's rare... we're too far north. The hottest it gets on average here is about 95 F (35 C); July is the hottest. But it seems August is when the dew point is killer, so it can actually be more unpleasant than July.

We have mosquitos here like you wouldn't believe.

We have had a record setting dry hot spring. Finally we are getting massive rains the last few days and once the temps come up again we will be very humid! UUUGGGG

I'm so glad we don't generally have to deal with humidity. We've got it, sure, but nothing like the east and north.

We don't get constant high humidity but we can get it for a few days here and there.

Usually it's brutally humid around here in the summer because we're in a valley surrounded by loads of lakes and rivers so all the moisture in the air gets trapped. Thankfully it's been pretty mild this summer thus far so I haven't had to deal with it yet. I can't stand working when it's hot and humid and I sweat so much it looks like I pissed my pants.

I usually refer to that as "looking like I was thrown into a swimming pool", so as not to offend the women folk, but, whatever works for you. :|

I'm pretty proud of my continence. I have a pretty good record of making it to the toilet or urinal. Lol
