On another note, Shannon it may be a good idea to provide a video similar to the below as not everyone is aware that you can and should participate in a contract. Another good Canuck!

Because you're the little impish pooch to our hippo of knowledge. ;)

It's always a party, as long as I don't have to wear pants, otherwise it's just work with beer, or as I like to call it, your average weekday afternoon! ;)

Fall Guy truck!!!

Gotta say I think the square body is growing on me, it's nostalgia of these trucks being everywhere when I was a kid.

I've always loved the color scheme of that truck. Watched the show back in the day, it was funny how virtually every scene had a different truck in it, some with the side bed door, some without, little things like that. Or, after a massive jump, you see the front axle split in half, yet they drive away like it was nothing. Just the kind of thing an impressionable youngster about to start driving should be watching.

I love Chief Hopper's Blazer on "Stranger Things", too. I love that show, that is my childhood.

I like the square body era of GM trucks. Actually, I like everything pre-1980, it's all got a simple elegance to it that today's trucks simply lack. When they changed the body styling in the 80's, it took me a very long time to warm up to the new look. Finally, in '95 when I bought my showroom new Sierra, I had finally warmed up to the rounded features, which carried through until about '07 or so when they started getting the squared look again, but not in a good way.

I'm back to not liking the looks of what's rolling off the line these days, it's too tall, too angry, and overall simply an unusable platform from a working man's truck point of view. As a daily driver that never sees anything in the cab or bed, maybe today's trucks are ok, from a work point of view, I don't appreciate the side of the bed being at eye level, and I'm 6' tall. Maybe that's why GMC has put steps into the tailgate, simply to access this sky high behemoth?

GM isn't the only one making this unusable BS, Dorf and Ramarginal are equally guilty of garbage trucks

Yes I believe if GM built a square body throw back retro truck they would be laughing to the bank. That is if they did it for under 50K Can. My truck was in the shop waiting for a part and I was giving a 2019 GMC SLE crew cab to drive for 6 days . Nice truck to drive but when it came time to use it like I use my truck every day I could see it was built even cheaper and lighter. We the working people who use a truck for a truck demand working trucks! YA we have gotten use to to creature comforts for sure but when I step up on the tail gate and into the bed of the truck that tail gate should not feel like its thin inside skin is flexing under my foot. They are making these things so light so they can have greater towing and hauling numbers but how safe are they if you actually towed the max weight? I did not buy my truck based on the fuel milage so it does not need to be light to try and increase that either. For god sakes build trucks again, any manufacture out there, just MAKE TRUCKS GREAT AGAIN.
My rant for the week.

I have a truck that I don't drive very often, a 2003 F-150 and I like it more than the new trucks. It's simpler, smaller, has a COLUMN SHIFTER, and really quite reliable. I don't know why automakers feel the need to make things bigger every time they redesign, that doesn't mean better.

Here's my dream truck though, if only they weren't asking $32,000 US for it:

I think the big three are basically in a johnson measuring contest to see who can build the physically largest truck, doesn't matter that it's useless, it's just bigger than the other guys, that's all that matters.

There's a reason that the retro styling of the PT Cruiser (that started it all), Challenger, Camero, and Mustang have been so popular, their predecessors were great looking cars back in the day, and proof that classic styling never goes out of style. There is very little creativity in the design of vehicles since the 80's.

They're cars, not trucks. :x

As long as the sales of new trucks continues to skyrocket, they will never change. It would take a company to come out of nowhere to build a truly heavy-duty (light duty) truck, people would flock to it, and then the Big 3 would learn.

In the meantime, though, there's plenty of great used trucks out there that you can customize to be much more practical. Shed all the body flaring and plastics.

I'd really like to get a nice 80's truck.
They are practical, and look awesome. If the time comes, I'll probably head south and try to pick one up there. Hard to find anything here that doesn't have major rust issues.

I had a chance to get a 70's F-100 pickup in really good condition for a really good price, but I already had 4 vehicles on my insurance and snoozed on it .... snooze you loose. It sold very quick :(

I would be a bit more nuanced. "Make trucks trucks again."

WTF happened to being retired?!?!?!?! :? :|

Started a major bathroom remodel yesterday. Client has a special needs teen son who can't hit the toilet, so we're turning the entire bathroom into a wet room so they can hose it down with the shower. Anyway, this was day 2 of the big project, got 90% of the demo done yesterday. Today was amassing materials and figuring out some of the framing modifications needed for the upgrades. I'll post up some pix as I have them.

This was supposed to be a joint project with a buddy, it was his lead. Turns out, he's too busy to be of much help, so it's become my project. Frigg'n amateurs!

If you guys want, I'll start a specific topic for a more in depth look at the process, otherwise, I'll just make a few random update posts here.
