Lost Phillips bolt for washer pedestal

Post by Jmaclicious » Mon Jun 19, 2017 10:26 am

I lost the phillip bolt style screws to secure the washer to the pedestal brackets, I cannot find the size I need and eBay charges 11$ per bolt for what I may need..... can I just use a drill bit to pilot the hole bigger to fit another size bolt or how would you go about this?

Looks like this one

Ya i would do as you suggested ,drill the holes out and install a actual bolt, nut and lock washer (or locking nut).

Sheet metal screws and bolts are cheap and plentiful at your local hardware store. If you have one screw to match others to, super easy task, otherwise it will be a bit of a guessing game. My guess is that they're going to be a #8 screw.

And, yes, you can drill the holes out and use larger screws, just know what size hole you need for the screw you intend to use.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
