Cast iron to ABS

Post by Goodmurph » Wed Aug 06, 2014 7:37 am

I watched a video with Shannon where he replaced cast iron pipe with abs piping. Just wanted to know why at the top of the pipe a slip fitting was used whereas a rubber boot was used on the bottom?

I replaced all of the cast pipe from the floor up, so the glue on slip fitting was going to be installed to ABS pipe as well. A rubber clamp fitting is needed to attach the bottom because it is joining to cast and I can not glue to it.
