one piece gel coat shower drain

Post by handygal » Tue Jan 20, 2015 1:48 pm

Noticed that the plumbers still have the drain pipe sticking up from the shower drain hole about 8" . I am wondering why the shower has been screwed to the framing all around the edges when this pipe has not been trimmed down yet. Afraid the cutting device used could damage the edges of the drain area if the plumbers aren't planning to tilt shower out to cut it. Just don't know why they fastened it in with screws if they were not thru trimming pipe. Is this another acceptable way of doing it? This is a one piece century stone fiberglass shower.

Not the way i would do it ,but then I do not wait for plumbers so I have the luxury of pulling it out to do the cutting.
