I’m finishing my basement and want to reroute this solo drain for the kitchen sink to the other side of the house by everything else (20’ away). What I would like to do is cut this pipe at the floor and permanently seal it off. I’m pretty sure this is at the end of the line and not a T intersection. Any recommendations on how to do it? I was thinking of cutting the pipe below the surface and using a test plug with hydraulic cement over the top and flush it with the floor.
Is there a better method?
Thank you.

Cutting that cast iron is going to be tough. Not sure if there is anything but a rubber cap with Fernco band that's going to cap it that can be done by DIY. Doubtful that a Fernco is rated for direct bury in concrete.

And how are you attaching it, and what's the point of the access hole if it's all below grade and buried in concrete?

that plug looks like it's designed to catch on the back of a lip, threads are shown inside the tee fitting and the plug pulls up against the back of them. There are expansion plugs that would simply press outward against the sides of the pipe, but you still have the same issue with being direct bury rated.
It will take some internet research and possibly contacting manufacturers to know if you can direct bury these products.

Thank you for your input. Any other ideas you can think of to seal off this hole? My ultimate goal is to not have to frame out around this piece. I would like the wall to be flat and not lose more square footage by framing the wall farther out. If i left the drain configuration as is, I’m assuming I would have to make an access for it and probably address the fact that the cast iron is showing its age.A. Look through Fernco's site, see if there is any mention about concrete contact/direct bury in concrete. They say they are rated for above/below ground, but ground contact is not concrete contact, so I would not use one until this question is resolved, other option would be to terminate the pipe below the concrete so that there is no direct concrete contact.

I can’t see why you could not cap that pipe and leave it in the wall if it was not needed as a vent for anything else. Does this pipe go up and into the article to vent to the roof?
