Mudroom / Laundry Room

Post by jai » Fri Jan 25, 2019 7:22 pm

I have a mudroom that doubles as a laundry room. I have a front-load washer and dryer. The electric (110 and 220) and water hookups are above the w/d. I'd like to build a washer/dryer pedestal. However, the height of the pedestal base would cover-up the water and electric. Above the w/d, I plan to build a box with a shelf or two. Any issues with covering up the electric and water besides easy access?

Most of the time those things are tucked down behind the machines anyway.

The problem with pedestals is that they invite vibration and noise from the machines, so make sure you build them very sturdy and anchor them down
